About Deva
The Art of Resonance
Deva Munay is a sound alchemist, teacher, and guide devoted to the sacred art of remembrance—helping others return to their essential nature through the transformative power of sound, ritual, and presence. She is the founder of Sacred Sound & Wonder and steward of the Sound Temple at K Paradise Ranch in Big Sur, California, where ancient redwoods meet the Pacific Ocean.
From this land, she offers immersive retreats, virtual immersions, and one-on-one sessions that awaken inner stillness, clarity, and connection. Whether guiding a group through a full moon sound journey, holding space for a client in profound transition, or swimming with whales in French Polynesia during her Whale Song Pilgrimage, Deva invites people into spaces of beauty, resonance, and deep listening.
Her work is not about fixing, but about remembering—tuning the body and spirit to the original blueprint of love, wonder, and wholeness.
Lineage & Journey
Deva's path with sound began in 1997, while attending the Dalai Lama's teachings in McLeod Ganj, India. It was there that she received her first sacred instruments and began to listen more deeply to the silence beneath all things. Since then, she has followed the call of spirit and vibration across continents—learning from wisdom keepers, sacred sites, and the elemental realms of Peru, Egypt, Nepal, Bali, Thailand, Central America, and Europe.
In Peru, where she has spent over ten months across four journeys, Deva worked deeply with the medicine plants Ayahuasca and Huachuma. These sacred allies opened her to profound states of expansion and remembrance—and also revealed a longing: to find a way to reach those depths without needing to ingest a substance. Sound became that bridge. Through intentional vibration, ceremony, and deep presence, she discovered that the body can be guided into the same territories of healing, insight, and unity—safely, gently, and sustainably.
Each journey continues to add new layers of devotion, informing the way she holds space and tunes into the field. This spring, she will return to Argentina and, for the first time, voyage to Antarctica—listening to the silence at the edge of the world and visiting the humpback whales winter home. Her work honors both ancient tradition and intuitive innovation, integrating the seen and unseen through sound, breath, movement, and sacred ceremony.
The Collection
Deva is known for her rare and masterfully curated collection of over 80 Crystal Tones Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls—each one handcrafted in the USA with gemstones, precious metals, and earth elements. These bowls serve as vibrational allies, opening portals to rest, release, and luminosity.
She offers personalized bowl consultations both virtually and in person, guiding collectors, practitioners, and discerning clients to find the perfect bowl or harmonically balanced set for their homes and practices. Each bowl is ceremonially activated at her Sound Temple overlooking the Pacific, infused with intention, presence, and reverence.
Creative Collaborations
Deva is the co-producer and featured artist on Overlapping Halos: The Poetry of Hafiz, a meditative sonic journey weaving voice by Penny Vieregge, violin by Edwin Huizinga, and alchemy crystal bowls. She also co-produced and performs on the debut album Lifting the Sky: Dawn to Dreams.
Her third album, Moonrise, will be released in late 2025—produced by Jeff Bhasker, one of the most celebrated music producers of the 21st century (Beyoncé, Kanye West, Harry Styles, Fun.). This collaboration represents a new threshold in sound healing: where Grammy-winning production meets ancient healing technology, creating a pristine, transformational sonic experience.
Deva performs and collaborates with musicians across genres and traditions, offering sound journeys in ceremonial spaces, concert halls, temples, and retreat centers worldwide. She is also a beloved faculty member at the iconic Esalen Institute, where she teaches the transformational art of sound at one of the world's most storied centers for human potential.
